Ryan Rust was born on May 25, 1992 in Martin County, Florida and was raised just a few miles north in Port St. Lucie. He began racing go-karts at the age of eight, in 2000, where he won his first championship in 2003 in the Jr. Sportsman Champ division.
Rust moved into the 600 Racing INEX Bandolero series at the age of eleven and became
the "Young Gun Champion" in the 2005 Bandolero "Young Guns" Series.
Two years later, he moved into the Pro Challenge series and was the 2008 Florida Sunshine Region
Pro Challenge Series Runner-Up. That same year Rust ran his first few Sportsman races and
won his first at Orlando Speedworld.
Over the next few years, Rust has been on a limited Sportsman, Late Model and Pro Challenge schedule, but is looking forward to hopefully getting in a full Late Model Season for 2010 and run a few races in ARCA.
Also, Ryan Rust has a program called Adopt a Hero that works with all five branches of the military to connect them with people back home to get care packages sent to them. The program started back in 2005 and has sent over 60,000 care packages overseas to the United States military.
Ryan attends the University of Central Florida where he is earning his
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
